Internships
One of the best "real life" experiences a young person can have is working for an important environmental cause such as protecting mountain lions. Not only do you get to do a job worth doing, but it often opens doors to future careers in the environmental field that would otherwise be closed. College students are often hired, usually without pay, as temporary employees to work on various research, analysis and writing projects. This is an excellent asset for students to add to their resume, make valuable contacts , gain real-life work experience and make a difference all at the same time.
If you are interested in being included on the candidate list, please send your resume and contact information to mlf@mountainlion.org .

Board and Committee Involvement
MLF is viewed as the leading authority on mountain lions and their habitat. To maintain this level of public expectation and to assist the organization in meeting new challenges and responsibilities MLF keeps a list of potential candidates that could step into an organizational leadership role (Board of Directors - active as well as honorary, Advisory Councils, and various working Committees) as needed. Potential candidates would include current MLF members that are active in their communities and have reached a level of experience and stature that would be considered an organizational asset by foundation and corporate funders.
Board of Directors
Board of Director members are the legal trustees of the Mountain Lion Foundation and have ultimate responsibility for its programs and management. Board members are expected to attend meetings, serve on committees and contribute significantly. Persons interested in being elected to the board should have a prior service record in similar capacities.
Honorary Board members
Honorary Board members are persons of considerable public stature who are willing to lend their name to our cause. These folks are invaluable for major campaigns, fundraising, media advertising, documentaries or special events.
Board Committees
Board Committees research and analyze issues that ultimately will go before the MLF Board of Directors for action. Committee members need not be members of the Board of Directors and may also be members of the Advisory Council, Committees are chaired by a Board Director and usually staffed.
Advisory Council
Advisory Council members are experts who are willing to be on call to assist us with both substantive and process issues. Examples might include wildlife biologists, land use planners, technical writers, accountants, media relations consultants, attorneys, or non-profit management experts.
